If your birthday is October 26, your zodiac sign is Scorpio. Scorpio runs from about October 23 to November 21, so October 26 sits a few days inside the sign. Libra, the sign before, ends around October 22 or 23, and the change does not reach the 26th.
This guide covers what Scorpio says about an October 26 birthday, where the date falls inside the sign and which tarot card fits.
Why October 26 is Scorpio
The Sun enters Scorpio on October 22 or 23, depending on the year. October 26 falls after both, so the sign is the same every year. If you are searching "is October 26 a Libra", the answer is no. The birthdays that need an exact birth-time check are October 22 and 23.
Scorpio is the eighth sign of the zodiac and the second water sign. It arrives as autumn deepens in the Northern Hemisphere, which is one reason its traits are described as private and intense. For the daily reading side of the sign, see our guide to the Scorpio horoscope and tarot cards.
What an October 26 birthday looks like in Scorpio
Scorpio is a fixed water sign. In traditional astrology it is ruled by Mars, and many modern astrologers also name Pluto. A Scorpio is usually described as focused, loyal and hard to read. They tend to keep their feelings close and notice what others try to hide.
The strength of the sign is depth. A Scorpio stays with a hard subject, keeps a secret and means what they say. The weak point is control. A Scorpio can hold a grudge or test people instead of asking a direct question. For the love side of the sign, read our guide to Scorpio in love, or the full Scorpio sign guide.
October 26 and the Scorpio decan
Each sign splits into three parts of about ten days, called decans. In the modern system, the first Scorpio decan runs from about October 23 to November 1 and is ruled by Mars. The second runs from about November 2 to November 11 and borrows from Pisces, which adds a dreamier, more intuitive tone. The third runs from about November 12 to November 21 and borrows from Cancer, which adds a stronger pull toward home and family.
October 26 is in the first decan, so it gets the Mars version of Scorpio: the most direct and driven part of the sign. Decan systems differ between astrologers, and none of them changes your Sun sign.
Tarot card for Scorpio
Death is the card most often paired with Scorpio. Despite the name, it is about endings and change, not literal death. It fits a sign that goes through one deep change after another.
The Moon also fits, since it deals with what is hidden and not yet clear. If you want a card for your own day, draw a free tarot card. It takes under a minute and needs no account. Tarot works as a reflection tool and does not predict events.
Compatibility for an October 26 birthday
Water and earth signs usually read as the easiest match for Scorpio. Cancer and Pisces share the depth, and Virgo and Capricorn share the steadiness. Taurus sits directly opposite Scorpio, and the pair tends to be intense and loyal.
Fire and air signs can work when both sides are honest about space and trust. For a particular pair, use the zodiac compatibility guide.
Using the date well
Late October is the turn toward the dark half of the year, and Scorpio is the sign most tied to it: letting go, clearing out and going inward. A simple use of the date is to write down one thing you are ready to end and one thing you want to protect. Scorpio energy works best with one honest decision rather than a long list.
See today's tarot card on the Scorpio horoscope page. It reads the day through a card and does not predict events.
